Searching The App

Start With a keyword search on the catalog to give you the most results and the best chance of finding your desired material. You don’t have to worry about capital letters of the title or author in a keyword search. The author’s name doesn’t have to be in a specific order either.

A keyword search is also great if you aren’t sure of the full title name or the author of the book. You can enter what you do know, or even a subject search.

There are times when a keyword search won’t give you what you are looking for and you have to do an advanced search to find what you need.

Advanced Search

Subject Search
You can enter a one word subject search to find books on certain topics. With books about multiple subjects, enter one subject at a time.

Adding Quotes To Your Search
Normally, when you start a search, it searches each word you type separately. If you put quotation marks around your search, it will search all the words within your quotes together.

Filters
The catalog will often give you more results than you need or have some results that are not relevant to your search. You can filter through your results with the options to the left of the catalog search.

Formats
You can also limit your search by the type of item you are looking for: large print, audio book, paperback etc.
